Christmas in the Park, 7.30 - 10.30pm, Saturday November 30, 2019
One of the most popular seasonal events is Christmas in the Park concert, featuring singers from around NZ, dancers and of course a visit from Santa.
As always, this will be held in Hagley Park and we recommend you take along a picnic blanket, low chairs if you have them, and provisions. There will of course be food and drink for sale, but the queues can be long!
Organise where you are going to park in advance as there will not be any parking onsite. You can catch the bus into town from just outside the Park to reduce the hassle of finding parking once you get into town.
Check out the lineup of talent for the evening.
If the weather causes a postponement, Sunday December 1st will be the alternative date.
Check out the website for more information on parking, buses and road closures.

Set in the grounds of the beautiful Avebury House, this night market is the perfect occasion to browse and enjoy the seasonal entertainment and surroundings.

2019 Christmas Lights Show, Shands Road
This annual event is a feature throughout December, with the hard work being put in by Carl and Maureen Seaward to set up and run a unique lighting display with its own soundtrack each year. We have seen a few sneak previews of what is in store this year via the Facebook page, including a train - so you can rest assured this year will be just as impressive as previous years.
Head out to Shands Road prepared with your $5 per person for admittance and your walking shoes as the popularity of this display means you may have to park and walk some distance! Keep an eye on their website for updates about this year's display.
The display will be open from November 30 - December 30 - but visit their Facebook page for updates to confirm they are open.
