Doubtful Sound
Take a Wilderness Cruise and experience the power of nature! Known for its remote wilderness feel and wildlife, Doubtful Sound is one of the most serene corners of the planet and no trip to the South Island is complete without visiting this breathtaking fiord.
The 8 hour Wilderness Cruise includes a short cruise on the crystal clear waters of Lake Manapouri, a coach trip over Wilmot Pass, one of New Zealand’s prettiest sub-alpine roads, a relaxing 3-hour cruise on board the Patea Explorer, a delicious picnic lunch (must be pre-ordered) and a visit to the Manapouri Underground Power Station.
Keep a look out for wildlife as Bottlenose Dolphins frequently swim alongside the cruise boat and Fur Seals sun themselves on the rocks around the fiord. A trained nature guide will provide you with an engaging commentary during the journey.
