History

The nearly 12 acres of land that is now home to Christchurch TOP 10 Holiday Park was originally purchased by Ian and Daphne Gamble 40 years ago, as a five year stepping stone to purchasing a farm.

Instead of investing in a rural lifestyle, they developed the motor camp (formerly known as Meadow Park) to be one of the largest accommodation providers in New Zealand.

The Gamble's children Steve and Jackie, and Jackie's husband Dean have been managing the Park for the past eight years continuing the family tradition. Over the last ten years the park has moved from a Ma and Pa type operation, to an upmarket 5 star holiday park which today employs 45 staff and is part of the nationwide network of TOP 10 Holiday Parks.

One of the largest holiday parks in New Zealand, Christchurch TOP 10 can cater for hundreds of guests per night. In total, the complex has 85 units or rooms in single or two-storey blocks and 110 powered camping sites, as well as an unlimited number of tent sites without power.

The high standards established by the park's owners have been recognised recently with a new Qualmark rating which means Christchurch TOP 10 Holiday Park is the only one in the city with five stars.
