Join Fox and Franz Heliservices for the experience of a lifetime surrounded by the rugged, stunning beauty of Westland National Park in New Zealand's South Island. Here you will have the chance to fly in one of Fox and Franz Heliservices’ modern turbine helicopters, view the stunning scenery of the West Coast glaciers and surrounding mountains, and experience the snow first-hand with an exciting snow landing!

The Fox and Franz Heliservices offer four different flights for you to experience the awe inspiring scenery and untouched beauty of the South Island, sweeping over lush sub-tropical forests and climbing to 6000’ before landing on the snow.

Make sure to bring your snow landing essentials including sunglasses, covered shoes, plenty of film or memory cards for your camera and comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for wearing on the snow. (The temperature shouldn’t be too much cooler than it is in the village.)

Flight 1 - $180
Fox or Franz Josef Glacier – 20 minutes
Soar above Westland National Park as you explore Fox or Franz Josef Glaciers at high altitudes of up to 6000’ before landing in the snow to enjoy exceptional views of the majestic Southern Alps and snap some great photos!

Flight 2 - $240
Fox Glacier and Mount Cook – 30 minutes
Discover for yourself the majestic Fox Glacier before sweeping by Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. A snow landing is also included giving you spectacular views of the Southern Alps.

Flight 3 - $240
Twin Glacier – 30 minutes
Discover the gigantic expanse of both Fox and Franz Josef glaciers with this scenic flight. Take advantage of the terrific photo opportunities of Mount Cook and Mount Tasman while landed on the snow.

Flight 4 - $340
Grand Tour – 40 minutes
This highly recommended ‘grand tour’ includes a flight over both Fox and Franz Josef glaciers as well as a sweep past Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. A snow landing will give you some magnificent photo opportunities, and as a bonus, you’ll even get to cross the main divide (weather permitting) to view the Tasman Glacier!


Children aged 12 years or younger fly for half price.
Children aged 3 years or younger fly for free sitting on adult’s lap.
All standard flights include a snow landing, subject to weather conditions and at pilot’s discretion.
